So it was time to update our ancient HTC Desire cell phones and at this time I didn’t even know about the Nexus 5X.
Our current cell phones had just become way to sluggish and the camera had always sucked. It was fine at daytime, but in low light it was horrible. Pictures came out very grainy and you really couldn’t see what it was suppose to be. At the same time our friends was standing next to us taking perfect shots with their stupid iPhones and Samsung s4, s5 and s6. 🙂
The thing just is that I do not want to pay $600 for a new phone and maybe even more for the latest Samsung s7. I wanted to pay much less and take at least as good pictures and they did and preferable better. Yeah, that’s a tough one I know.
I started searching google for best camera phones on a budget and so on. I went through a lot of reviews and did a lot of reading and comparison and finally i found a great review on Androidcentral, a well established and recognized Android web site. I have added the link at the bottom of this post.
So this Androidcentral review focused on exactly what I was interested in: the cameras. The review name is “Camera showdown: iPhone 6s vs. Nexus 5X vs. Galaxy S6 vs. LG G4”. Look at that! $600 phones being compared to the $260 Nexus 5x!
The Nexus 5X review is very comprehensive and let me just save you for a lot of reading and quote a part of the conclusion:
Kudos need to go Samsung and LG for really stepping up their game in the past few years, going from mediocre cameras to best-in-class units. But it’s the Nexus 5X (and thus the Nexus 6P) that win this battle. The new Nexus phones may not have the most pixels to work with, but the big sensor with relatively huge pixels, collecting light through a nice bright aperture, but the photos they’re producing are positively phenomenal.
So there you go! A $260 phone beating the big guys! I have had the camera now for about 3 weeks and I am impressed. Never have I been able to take this great pictures. I am so happy I found the Nexus 5X review from Androidcentral.

I am with Cricket Wireless and they do not offer the Nexus 5X. So I checked out Amazon and eBay for good deals and I bought mine on eBay here. Now when you are reading this that auction may be ended, so check out the sellers store here
, Just navigate to his phones from the left menu. I needed my phone in a hurry because we were going to Las vegas, so I contacted this seller to see if he could ship same day. He promised to do that and he did. Highly recommended eBay seller: never-msrp.
By the way, I just noticed that the price is now $262 for the Nexus 5X so it’s probably a good to just search eBay to see what other sellers has to offer.
